IT Security Analyst - Richardson, TX or Fort Worth, TX

Halff has an immediate opening for a Security Analyst on our Infrastructure Team at our Richardson, TX or Fort Worth, TX location. The ideal candidate would have at least three years of experience in computer systems with some specialization in computer security. This position offers excellent career growth with Halff, with the potential for not only business or personal growth but ownership within the firm.
IT Security Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with users to discuss computer data access needs, identify security threats and violations, and identify and recommend needed programming or process changes.
  • Uses data encryption, firewalls, and other appropriate security tools and applications to conceal and protect transfers of confidential digital information.
  • Develops and implements plans to safeguard digital data from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure; adheres to emergency data processing needs.
  • Reviews violations of security procedures; provides training to ensure violations do not recur.
  • Modifies Windows security permissions and applications as able and necessary to provide specialized access, allow new software to be installed or integrated, or correct errors.
  • Performs risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure the proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Safeguards systems security and improves overall server and network efficiency by training users and promoting security awareness.
  • Monitors systems to ensure endpoint protection software is installed and functioning on all systems. Update as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
IT Security Analyst Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient, with, a broad array of security software applications and tools.
  • Thorough understanding of computer-related security systems, including firewalls, encryption, data loss prevention solutions, password protection, and authentication.
  • Experience with FortiGate/FortiManager appliances preferred.
  • Experience with ClearPass Network Access Control appliance preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Intune, and Purview.
  • Exposure or experience using a SIEM tool preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
IT Security Analyst Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, programming, or related field preferred
  • At least three years of experience in computer systems with some specialization in computer security is highly preferred.
  • CompTIA Security or other equivalent certifications.
IT Security Analyst Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
